Stop paying twice: refund, then mark the alert in Kount

A refund alone doesn't always stop a chargeback. After an Ethoca or CDRN alert, the customer's bank also needs to hear that you refunded, and that happens when the alert is marked refunded in Kount. When that step is late or missed, the bank goes ahead with the chargeback and you pay for the same sale twice.

Every time an alert comes in

  1. Open the alert in Oyaka from the Today screen or your notification.
  2. Click Refund in NMI and refund the full amount. A partial refund may not stop the dispute.
  3. Right away, mark the alert refunded in Kount. Oyaka reminds you after 2 hours if it's still open.
  4. Check the Alerts screen weekly. Any alert that still turned into a chargeback shows up there, with a button to request the $30 alert fee back.
If a customer was refunded and still charged back, fight it. These cases are very likely to win because the refund receipt proves the customer was already paid back, and Oyaka drafts the response for you.
